who dont know, is for specifying what fret to play 
a chord. like 'A' would be your normal A, but
'A^V' would be the A barre chord at the 5th fret,
since 'V' is the roman numeral 5. if you were to write
it out by hand, you would just write the romans real
teeny (like an exponant. does that explain the caret?).
